Any one here running a 92-93 6.5TD with a turned up mechanical injection pump? If so, did it affect your idol at all? I turned mine up a bit more earlier and its idoling at 1000 rpm instead of its usual 800

i adjusted it in the hole through the top, there was a small spring in the hole that i had to take out. its only turned a little over an 1/8th of a turn

I had the same problem. but it is because i accidentelly turn the governor bolt during the adjustment.had to pull the cover back off to correct it

no the spring was down inside the hole. it was kinda sitting in there at an angle, im not sure what its for but i put it back in like i found it

that may be what i need to do. when i took out the allen head on the back of the pump i measured the distance it was sticking out but maybe i didnt get it right? i will check it tomorrow and see if that helps. thanks

STOP

There is NO SPRING in the any of the holes in the above pictures.

It may be too late, but I think the small spring fell out of the 'slide pin hole'.

The main fuel rate can be adjusted in either fashion in post #3. You are turning the same screw. It's a PITA to use the triangle cover with the IP on the engine. The top cover carries more risk of F'ing things up doing it that way....however...

so what does one do?turn the screw to the right for more,or to the left?

and how much is too much of a turn.

i do realize i gotta get all my other mods done first, but i will write this all down for when the time comes.

I bet that spring is toast, that used to be for the top end governor.

It is merely a guess on my part as to where the mystery spring came from.

I do know that almost every time I fiddle with the pin in a DB2, that damn spring falls out and I have to dig it out of the IP somewhere.

oh. so i probably need to pull the pump back apart and figure out where it goes. its just so cold outside im not really looking forward to messing with it haha
