Lately my brakes feel a little funny, slightly more pedal required to stop, and sometimes I notice a slight release in the brakes as I'm pressing down. Front pads and rotors are fairly new, rears are still real good. My master is damp with oil or fluid or something, but it has ever since I got it ten years ago. Not losing any fluid. My power steering fluid is a little low, gonna get some and top it off later. Could this be the problem? I know the hydroboost works off the PS, but I dont know much more than that. Havent noticed any problem steering, and it isnt too low, its on the full cold line when its hot, so only a few ounces down, not sucking air or anything. I just dont want to buy a master if I dont need to, but I also don't want to tow the camper to the mountains next weekend with questionable brakes.
I've changed masters on non-hydroboost vehicles before, but they've always failed in such a way that theres no question whats wrong.
Maybe a flush of brake and PS fluid? I've flushed my brake fluid several times before, it always looks black.

no. I found the ps was low, topped it off and it felt a little better. weird.
do you mean the rubber hoses to the calipers? I'll take a look, you think they collapsed?

I'm thinking more that they're expanding from the pressure. need 2 people to check that one. don't forget the 1 at the rear.
