Getting the longhorn herd built up. We originally got a pregnant longhorn and a longhorn cow calf pair on a trade. The pregnant one gave birth to a bull calf last spring (not pictured). The calf that came with the pair got butchered last november at 823lbs. The the 2 cows are being boarded with a bull for the winter due to a hay shortage this year, so im hoping they will be dropping calfs again. I didnt realise how different these are from black angus, they put on weight much slower and produce really lean meat that has to be slow cooked, but its really good. The stock trailer has holes in the roof from the horns on these things haha
