LBZ Dmax thermostat

Yeah, seems like ours is barely creeping up to normal temp, and I've been told the heat isn't working great. Seems fine to me, been driving it for a couple days, but for $40, it's time. What's the easiest way to drain the coolant? Is there a drain on the bottom of the radiator?

I just opened my bleeder valve outside and let it run out, I got it in the shop and got even more all over the floor. I just topped it back off w/ dex cool. I don't have a clean enough catch pan to even worry about trying to save/ reuse mine. Took ~2-3qt to top off. To get it down to the a level you wont flood your shop you can pull the temp sensor or loosen the housing bolts and just forget about catching it. I pulled the oil fill tube to get more room, be sure to cove the fill hole good because the coolant will run right to that space.

Gonna have to have someone else do it, I won't see the truck for over a month. Glad I got the right stats tho.

Just filled up for the first time since the Tstats. I set out 4 bales of hay (hauling 2 of them one at a time 20 miles) and had more city driving than normal, got 15.7mpg. That's up from the 12.5-13.5 I was seeing normally before, I actually got better mpg then loaded because it made the truck get up to temp. I'm a bit happier, I will work on my fuel rail and front end to try and squeeze 16-17 unloaded DD (its winter now so mpg is down from additives and 5-10 min idle every morning)

MPG has dipped back down to high 13's/low 14's, better but the truck cant keep dropping mpg. I keep my rpms low and cruise at 60-62, I am plugging my truck in this tank for a start and go theory. Next is a LP, would a Raptor 100 supply a tow/econ EFI Live tune, I really don't want/need more than that, if not a kennedy single might be next.

Nice. Got ours replaced, our local guy knew to only run AC Delcos, so that was good. When my mom called him and said we had the stats, she had to call me to see if I had bought the Delcos, he wouldn't install anything else. Not sure how it's running, hopefully it's heating up.

It is nice to have heat! It was -5 when I left the other day and I had to turn the heat down once I got on the highway, no inter front either. Just did fan clutch yesterday and the truck sounds quieter, like the fan was humming or making "fan noise" .
