Hey guys i just replaced the 4 injectors on pass side. started it up and it sounds real good. drove it and it doesnt seem to have a very linear or consistent power curve. the first 15 min i drove it it would smoke like nun other if accelerating, but that has seemed to clear up a lot . it still smokes if you get on it but just a little more than a haze.
so question is are the other 4 toast also. The lb7s i have seen with problems put out a haze while idling but this one never has.
the inconsistent power curve just feels like the turbo somtimes does its thing and other times not;)
I wired the wastgate shut to see if the accuator might not be working but it didnt seem to change much
any ideas??

i found a big hole imean BIG in the driver side intercooler tube. I took it to our local weld shop and they fixed me up in 20 min. (its nice to have a good weld shop)
i also cleaned the mass air sensor
You can still produce some black haze under acc. maybe like u would get with a mild program. would u worry about this? i just thought a stock truck shouldnt smoke at all Rght or Wrong?????

Glad the fix was pretty easy. Some smoke is normal if you jump on her hard. I would still find a way to check the balance rates as previously suggested this way you can take them out of the equation.

Just wondering...did you use new bosch/GM injectors?

Some have had issues with non GM injectors...especially Pensacola's

used bosh remans bought from merchant auto. Ill take it to our local chevy dealer and they will give me the balance rates. just not sure when.

well an update, i started off with doing the pass. side 4 than drove it a couple days and just wasnt happy with it. It was a lot better but u could tell an in. or two wasnt right on the drivers side. so second day aired 4 more in and got them in just in time to take the truck on a 1100 mile vac. trip into the mountains pulling the camper in my sig. It did very well ran smooth and i had an overall mpg average of 11.9. shes still a little rough around the edges but i think its mechanicaly sound.
