Hey guys, new to the site. I just bought my first diesel truck. It's a 2007 1/2 silverado hd crew cab.

I'm looking into a new air intake and a programmer. I'm trying to get the best mph and torque I can. I will be hauling around 6-9,000 pounds a day with the truck.

Any suggestions for a programmer and air intake?

I still have a year or so left on my warrenty so I'm avoiding anything that can't be switched back realatively easy if something were to go wrong.

Thanks for the help. So far I'm lovin the site

Welcome!

For a programmer. A lot love the PPE tuners, I've used one and I liked it myself. I've had bullydog, since I've switched to EFI Live.

Really, just search for what fits your needs.

For intake, the factory one works just as well.

For MPG Improvements, your best bet is to remove your DPF filter.

I switched from an Airraid to a Banks Ram Air. And my 6 Gun failed within weeks of warranty expiring. EFI Live is the way to go. I'm lucky enough to have a good friend with it. so only a license was need, he takes care of all the programming for me, which is a good thing cause I dont have the patience.

I was looking into the banks air box. It looks nice, a little pricey but figured I'd be worth it seeing that they are diesel specialists.

I don't have the patience to tune either, nor do I have the know how. I'd much rather buy something that has a program preset for hauling, performance and a stock option.

I had looked into a new exhaust but I don't want to void my warrenty that I still have a year on.

For programmer then look at module units like Banks and the Edge. Not the Edge EVO. If you want to return quickly to stock then you do not want a programmer that alters the ECM. Once you change it the ECM stores a new CVN value. Even returning to stock and will not matter. It records the last 10 changes. Since leaving exhaust as is leave the power down or you will be clogging the DPF quicker.
