Hit a deer

Well driving home sunday night/monday morning. I hit a deer. Decent sized one too.

I swerved and pinned it. :D. My brakes werent gonna stop me in time so I figured I might as well make it worth the while.

Now I need a new bumper valence, the chrome steel piece above it, the black plastic piece above that, a new fog light assembly(it was junk anyways) and a new mount for the DRL/marker lamp assembly.

All of this was on the driver side, a lot of hit was already damaged from when I idled into a pole at the qwikey mart.

Im not gonna replace it anytime soon as my money is going towards pulling. Ill fix the lights for now though.

When I do get around to fixing it Im gona put in a billet grille that deletes the GMC emblem and a billet grille in the valence. Everthing is going to be painted to match the truck but I havent decided If I want to paint the chrome grille surround and the metal piece above the bumper valence. Im afraid it might be too much.

The lights are also all getting tinted as well.

I hit this guy at 85-90mph. Caught his ass.

Ive decided that I am going to do the following when I actually fix it.

Billet Bar Grille, No GMC emblem
Billet Grille that covers those two holes in the chrome strip
Billet Grille Between fog lamps

All grillls are going to be painted to match.
That little black plastic strip between the grille surround and the chrome part of the bumper is also going to be painted to match
My mirrors and handles will also be painted
Im also going to get a roll pan and of course paint that as well.

Every lens on the truck will be tinted.

Im leaving the grille surround and the chrome strip below it chrome. I think it will accent everything else.

So my truck will be just one big rolling blob of darck Charcoal metallic paint, and tint.:D

I might even paint my D/A badges to match the truck to make it even more custom, but still not break the bank.
 
I got one today too - Had one run right into the passenger side right at the fender and dmax/2500 emblems.

Thats not the bad part - 3 weeks ago I had a guy pull off at the gas station where I was filling and not take the pump out of his car - It ruberbanded back hit me then my truck and did damage (to both). Problem is the deer and the gas pump damage are on opposite sides - never my luck it seems.

You hit that deer pretty fast - glad your alright.

eh. he was just a little guy and like I said I only caught his ass.

My lights are in now, so Im legal. The rest will come sometime within the next 10-15 years.
 
I had a deer run right into the side of my little 92 gti. I had just bought it, put a brospeed header and lesritz (sp?) exhaust on it. I had it on the road for less than 45 mins and this big ass buck ran right into the passenger side. I got out and grabbed a rock the size of one of those little basketballs and chased him about 200' into the woods in the dark. I was going to beat his ****ing head in. My wife (girlfriend at the time) started crying and saying it's not the deers fault, all the construction is taking his habitat. At least I had something to laugh at. Well no laughing, but the humor of the ridiculous statement did calm me down a bit. It dented up the whole pass side and ripped off the rear fender flare and mirror.
 
now thats funny.

I believe if the deer runs into the truck hes fair game, after all he started it.

A nice buck ran into my buddies Dmax and left a scrape and dent down his entire driver side from driver door to taillight. Couple weeks later he killed a fawn doing 80 on his Yamaha aPex NYTRO. For those who dont know, its a FAST sled.

Dad hit a deer about 3 weeks ago and here's a pic of the grille we put back in. You can get it w/ or w/o the emblem. (right click on the thumbnail then click "open link" then zoom in on it so it will get rid of the little black lines running across the whole thing)
 
I gotta get a billet grille for my dads 02, the cows ate the grille out of it.
