Hey Rich! Well its gotten a little better since i started this thread. I replaced the CTS and that DID help a little, at first when i would cold start it wanted to idle at about 600ish rpm, i replaced it and it actually goes to high idle cold. So that helps now. However i still do have a smokey start. It is grayish/blueish smoke, runs rough for a bit like skipping off hits for about 10-15 seconds. It does burn a little oil still, about a quart every oil change. Which i heard is normal. I think me rotating the rings in the #8 slot is a little of a factor also. I really think you hit the nail on the head Veg with the air getting in the fuel line. Some times i will start it and it will almost die but pick right back up. This happens more when it isnt warm but its not cold either. So i think it is a fuel/air issue. The fuel line is new from the transmission to the i/p. So if it is leaking it is between the tranny and the tank. I still havent put in a fuel pressure gauge, its plumbed for one but plugged currently due to money issues. I have checked and cycles power with a test light to each glow plug and they are powered up right. I also replaced the PMD again due to stalling. The other one was less than a year old, so i found one in the basement out of my 4 spares. And so far its been 2 months and no stalling. Its been an average of 12 degrees here so i havent touched the truck in a while. 20 credit hours of school, work, and a new gf take up a ton of time....2 more years of school to go. BTW, my nice cat yellow engine is looking pretty bad, the rust is already taking its toll. The manifolds are all ready rusting. Pretty depressing...... Wow i need to update my miles in my sig. Been so busy lately.... I hit 213k yesterday.
