Hey guys,
My new boss has a 7.3 Powerstroke that is having a bit of an issue. I went to fire it up today and it took several tries to finally get it to turn over. Talked to him, and says he is aware of the issue and that it has bad glow plugs. He said hes been using ether on it for some time now. I of course told him the whole "no don't ever use ether on a golw plug equipped diesel" story.

He says his mechanic said that in order to replace the glow plugs on the powerstroke you need to remove the valve covers and that there is a "wire" that needs to be watched out for. Can anybody elighten me on replacing the glows and the "wire" on these trucks?

As always thanks.
