hey guys, found on an upcoming farm equipment online auction a 2003 Chevy C3500 D-max ZF6 2wd Reg. Cab 159.5" WB Chassis cab with a mediocre 11' flatbed, but the truck looks very straight, no body imperfections, and oh so very slight surface rust on the frame.

It supposedly has 95,752 miles, but they do show a cluster pic, and the miles are the same as the description, but it has the window for the auto gear selector (with no line under any of the letters). were these known for cluster issues, and the dealer put in and programmed an auto cluster to the mileage? the mileage is just above the last entry in the GM system, which was for the injectors below.

I had ripmf666 run a VIN check, and it did have a full set of injectors from GM in 12/10/09 at 95,481

here is the link to the VIN check

so what do you guys think of the cluster issue? does it sound like what I thought very well could happen?

other than that, what do you guys think of the truck, and what do you think it should be bid to?

KBB said 15 grand, but that is on a pickup, chassis cab was not available. one had to select 4x4 RCLB

So has everyone had good luck with the latest injectors? (I think 08 was mentioned?)

And I already know the drill on the flywheel and clutch, save up for a south bend! :)

otherwise, take care of the ISS, and possibly deal with the instrument cluster again, but otherwise, not much wrong with LB7, correct?

I'd go for it if the bids started slowing down in the 13k neighborhood. I'm sure you know the drill. If some joker shows up and has it bought in his head before the bidding starts you'll be wasting your time. Best if it's a weekday sale.

we are looking for a bargain here, so under 10K is gonna be where it needs to be for our operation. I know, a longshot, but there is always a chance at an auction.

if your luck is likemine I always hear about the good deals people get at auctions but when I go the stuff sells way high

that is why I love online auctions, if it is super cheap, it is worth the gamble. the only thing I dont like about the online auction this d-max is on is that the bidding is only open for 24 hours. what kid of crap is that? :) I for one hope that negatively affects it in my favor, along with the 2wd.

We have around 200K on our LB7 and it is still truckin, it's on it's 3rd cluster and 5th set of injectors and 2nd axle but the truck has pulled our 48ft 6 horse since it was delivered from the factory grossing between 25-33k pounds regularly it has never left us stranded anywhere. I would say the LB7 is a beast

so does it sound very possible they just programmed what they had laying around for clusters? (since after 3 it sounds like you may know the cluster by now! :) )

And also, I say programmed, but does the mileage stay within the cluster, or does the mileage stay with the truck computer, and is displayed correct on any cluster? that is the only thing that is making me worry ATM is the auto cluster.

ok, it is at 8200 bucks right now, opened at 100 bucks at 4pm on the 28th

I know it is worth it, but I should really just dump money in the fleet right now rather than add another rig to the fleet. Plus, I have a slight lead on a d-max zf6 2wd being junked. hello swap! :) favorite body style, meet the marvel of engineering known as duramax, and its good buddy ZF6. :)

is where it is at, one has to be registered to view bidding. Bidding ends at 4pm today (the 29th) and the way it is now, I think she will find over 10K dollars.

Usually the cluster is totally new, they send the old one back for remanufacture I believe. There is a specail warranty for them though, if it goes out in so many miles they give you a new one. They are built very shitty, GM had a lawsuit against them fir selling vehicles with faulty cluster, I don't know what came of it.

tempting, but I am holding out for the longest wheelbase if I do get another HD, and I want it white. but other than the paint, it is perfect! :)

You are the single pickiest guy I have ever known...J/K It's a work truck man color doesn't matter you are just going to beat on it.

no need for the j/k. I am! :D

Seriously, I am about the only guy that can make a liar out of a car dealer that says in their ads, "If we dont have it, we will find it!" good luck finding some of the stuff i want! (2wd diesel tahoe, CCLB SRW 3500 6.5 5spd 2wd, rclb 1500 6.2L 5spd 2wd all white of course! :) )

we have a problem on this farm of selling vehicles, so I try to find perfection, because if we are not going to get rid of it, might as well get what you want! :)

plus an all white fleet is pretty sexy IMHO, gives a sense of uniformity.

and back OT, the d-max brought 13,200. worth it, but I was hoping the lack of cruise and the 2wd would have put it closer to oh, 5 grand.... I know, I hope for miracles!

We will be upgradeing our horse hauler soon, our Summit white LB7 Allison 205k+ miles 2wd. I know it's not a stick but if I don't keep it as a farm beater I can let you know... We are looking at LML D-Max's right now. Only offering us 8k on trade so we will either keep it or sell it...
