For thermostats....I buy none other than ACdelco units. There is a flow issue with some of the aftermarkets. The only thing is that iirc the acdelco units are 195* not 180*s

EGT probe IMO should be installed pre turbo in the RH exhaust manifold right below the turbo flange on the flat spot. This provides for accurate and quick temperature measurements. I know some people are afraid of loseing the probe through the turbine if it fails......If this is the case I would just replace it every few years to stay ahead of any deterioration of the part

Fuel pressure tap is another personal opinion. Some prefer the drain side of the housing, some use the top of the filter housing with a adapter such as leroy's from pmdcable.com. I chose to add a T into the line between the filter housing and the IP. Make sure to do the FTB mod at this time as well, if not done already!

While the motor is out....clean engine bay, inpect brake lines, tidy up wireing, clean radiators, grease those PITA fittings on front end :D

As for injectors...a local shop should be able to do the job for ya. With heath being in your area he can probably steer you in the right direction.

There are a few AC Delco options for the single thermostat, a 180*, 190* and a 195*, I run a 180* and temps are always low, would recommend the 190* or 195*. The 190* is like a double spring or something.

2) where should I install my EGT probe?? anywhere Preturbo, in the crossover is fine if you just want to tap that and weld on a bung or use one of them clamp bung things.

3) where should I tap in to fuel line for fuel PSI??
Between the Filter Manager and the IP makes the most sense so you can see deteriorating filter. The drain line and the top poppet valve location are both pre-filter in the housing.

4) what ells should do seeing as the motor is out?? But about to go back in!
I mentioned before ceramic coatings on the pistons, you can get them that spray on with an air brush and bake at normal stove temps. can do it on tops and a lubrication one on the skirts. Doing the pre-cups would be good too.

5) where can i get injectors rebuilt/tested
Obviously Heath sells them, but with the motor out I would just have the injectors rebuilt, you can find Bosch German, standard or marine nozzles on ebay for $100, and any local diesel shop should have a shim kit and pop tester, or a Mercedes shop might. For installing new nozzles and setting the pop a place only usually charges $15 each or less. So you would have like new for about $220, and can have the pop set to what you want and the type of nozzle you want. I recommend setting the pop to 2200psi on standard nozzles, stock is about 2100psi for a turbo truck.

Look hard at replacing the engine mounts.
Look hard at the exhaust manifolds as they are new $100 each on fleabay. Old ones tend to be warped and not seal well going back on.

If you have a hookup or the cash I would get the manifolds extrude honed, since making a set of headers would be time consuming or even more expensive. extrude honing is like $750 for a set of manifolds.

There are exhaust manifold gaskets available, as well at T3 turbo gaskets, and even V-Band gaskets if you want that thing as quiet as possible. I would recommend against the felpro crossover donut gaskets, they seem to have smaller inner diameters than others.
