Drivetrain/Tranny clarification wanted

I was told by a mechanic that this is what I have:

Tranny - T-5 Muncie (MW3-New Venture 2418(?) New Venture) (I briefly looked up the combination T-5 Muncie and from what I read the T-5 is weak and not interchangeable with a Muncie - and I found that information on a car website...) I do have a 5 speed manual - so would this really be a NVG4500?

You mechanic is thinking of a car transmission. You have, without a doubt, the NV-4500. Look for RPO code MW3 (I think that's it).

Or MT8, GM used both for the NV4500.

EDIT:

MT8 = 1992-1994 NV4500
MW3 = 1995-2005 NV4500
