Does a 4l80e have the same transfer case as an NV4500 ?

I am trying to figure out if the NP241 in my CUCV will bolt to an NV4500. I know it will bolt to a 4l8e(Or so I am told). The TC that comes with the NV4500 won't do me any good as the driveshaft is on the wrong side

Yes it will bolt right up(at least on my 95 it did),but the shift sensor/switch on the TC from the NV4500 has 2 pins whereas the AT mounted TC shift swich has 3 pins. The switches wont swap, but one can make the 2 pin work with a spliced in relay.

TH350/700R4/4L60E use 27 spline input shaft t-cases. TH400/4L80E and all manuals use 32 spline.

There is no differences between the cases, except the input shaft, bearing and retainer. The later electronic (4L60E and 4L80E) use a 3 pin detent switch, where the older autos and manuals use a 2-pin. You CAN swap the 2-pin into the case and change the plug out.

Not on mine it didn't.

I don't care about the switch. My CUCV has a solid front axle. So an NV4500 has a 32 spline same as a TH400 ? I wonder why Advance Adaptors makes a conversion kit ? It sounds like I don't need one.

I have no idea. Both my trucks are NV4500 and have NP241s behind it.

Question? Did you put a 241 in your CUCV?! If you didn't, then you have a NP208. 208 looks the same, it's just a little higher geared and only has a 3 gear planetary IIRC.

I'll look. I thought it was a 241. Maybe it is a 208. I maybe confusing it with one of my other rags. Will the 208 case fit ?
