This is the FLEETGUARD fuel filter cannister used on the CTD engines. The filter element is top-loaded for convenience, it has a built-in thermostat-controlled fuel heater, Water In Fuel sensor, and WIF drain valve. This '05 version has the machined bosses on the inlet side for the obsoleted filter-mounted lift pump as equiped on the earlier engines
