I am thinking of buying a diamond grit or diamond segmented wheel for metal (steel) cut-off purposes. Will be welding on cuts ends. Anything to watch out for? Anyone had bad service from amazon diamond blades. Any brands to avoid?

From this I assume diamond is ok. Other interesting thing is use silicon carbide not aluminum oxide to remove mill scale.

I have a diamond embedded disk.
Used it a lot but after many cuts it seemed to slow down.
I’ll get it out and give another try to remember the details of why I no longer use it.
I use the carbon fiber disk for cleaning rust, scale, paint etc from steel.
I do have a 9” grinder and just purchased a flat 1/8” thick carbin fiber blade for it. Have not tried it out. Just now the thought, I dont have a nut and holding fixture for that thin of a blade for the 9” grinder. Now I’ll need to go searching the dewalt store.
