I did some maint last weekend- oil, trans filter, rear diff, brake & power steering fluid.

62,000 miles and man, when I was done, I had a half gallon of nasty black brake fluid in a milk jug to show for it. I know you need someone with a Tech II to cycle the ABS to completely flush it, but just by siphoning out the master cylinder, refilling and leaving each corner open for a while, compressing the caliper pistions and waiting until clean fluid runs out made a world of difference. The pedal is much firmer and more solid feeling now.

Diff looked pretty good, considering I had only changed it once before at around 1300 miles when it was still new. Power steering fluid was nasty brown though- pumped that out with the brake pedal and a hose attached to the hydro boost return line.

You are right. Brake fluid is one of the most neglected parts of a vehicle, yet its so important. I dont get it...

Thanks for the reminder. :cheers2:

Don't forget this!
