Anybody running the new Alpine HeadUnit?

It's cool with the feature's that it has. But, $775 WITHOUT the Nav feature is pricey!

Maybe on my Christmas list? :D

Well..

I just dropped the bomb on one!

I'll be doing a DIY article for the install. I've ordered about $250 worth of adapters to make it work..

geez!! Im itchin to get an in-dash unit. I want the kenwood though, little cheaper and comes with garmin GPS. But you cant go wrong with Alpine stuff!

Let us know when you get all done Jeff!

Can't go wrong with Kenwood.

But, what sucks about a aftermarket radio, you have to buy a bunch of adapters to make everything work. Onstar, Door Chime's, blinkers, etc..

My SIR-GM1 for my truck is now useless...

Well. It arrived today!

Here is some photos..

nice! now get that bad boy installed

I finally got ALL the adapters in today. So far I've spent about $350 in just adapter's to make this think work.

I'll be getting it installed soon with a DIY article. ;)

$350 in adapters?!:jaw: holy crap!
It's really annoying though if all the other stuff doesn't work proberly:pop2:

Yep.

Install Kit: $30

PAC OS2BOSE
Adapter to KEEP Onstar and Bose Speakers: $100.00

PAC SWI JACK
Adapter to Use Steering Wheel Controls: $50.00

PAC TR 7 -Optional
Lets you control NAV, and watch DVD's WHILE driving. (Safety features locks this out from the factory)

SCA-100 Adapter Sirius to Alpine
$90.00

SCC1-Sirius Connect Tuner-For the actually programming on the radio
$50.00

It's crazy.

Then for the Navigation to work you need the NVE-P1. Alpine Accessory at $200.00...Which I haven't bought this yet..

looks really good, i have been lookin gon crutchfield for one. I was torn between the that one and one of the kenwoods. Let us know how you like it. As i was was looking i was thinking that the prices of the radios werent too bad, but then like you i starting looking at the adapters and could'nt believe how fast they add up.

Well..

After 6+ Hours I finally got this installed.

I'm still waiting to hook my Siruis back up along with the Video Safty Bypass Feature and I'll be set!

So far I love it.

I'll be posting a DIY article soon!

Nice. I almost bought a Kenwood 7100 before I moved. But at $1750 installed, I opted for the cheaper route for a grand for the factory nav and 500 for the lux amp. Yeah, I didnt save much, I know but I thought I was going to at the time. Still seems pretty steep considering a brand new motor, 4.6 fully assembled for my Ford is only $1600.

That is a lot. Was that a shop quote or your own labor?

I added the Alpine NVE-P1 Navigation add on today.

I must say this is a must have with this radio. I love it even more now! :D

I have one complaint with this radio:

I can't seem to get the right fit for it. It pushed to far out to get the molding around it for a clean install.

What kind of material could I get to custom make a black piece to go around it to hide the inside of the radio?
