Hello, I ran my 1981 Eldorado out of fuel, now after filling it up changing the fuel filter, also opened the screw atop of the injectors to bleed the air out it still wont start, although it will start when I get a rag with gas on it, but it will die after a short while. Will the glow plugs not working will cause it not to keep running, because some of the wires were broke that go to the glow plug module(Ford starter solenoid).
Thanks
Leonard

"the screw atop the injectors" I take it you meant you loosened the injector lines?

and also, yes, the glow plug system needs to be operational for it to start in cooler weather. even on 90 degree days, I would cycle the glow plugs for a clean and fast start.

lastly, welcome to the forum! fill out your signature, maybe post up some pictures of the beast, etc.

x2 on gp's working. I bet you got a bunch of air in the system and onece gp's are working just crank the poop out of it and it will start. Let the starter cool for a few minutes between cranking. Don't use gas or starting fluids.
