5.3L L33 Mods

Anyone have experience with the 5.3L or specifically the L33? Been looking at a cam and polishing out some 6.0 heads. Also looking into stroking to a 383. Ideas, improvements or opinions anyone?
 
I built a 2002 5.3 for my S10. I used the stock heads,unported. I did upgrade the cam and valves springs. It runs pretty good ,ran 11.98 @ 114 mph, with terrible 60 ft.
