Hello,

I have a buddy owning a 2003 Silverado with the 5.3 engine.

His problem :

when he wants to engage 4WD, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes after being engeged, it will disengage itself while driving.

He was told to replace an electronic board, but we wonder which one.

Anybody knows what's this board, how it is called or can share the part # ?

Thanks .

I take it he has the push buttons???

more than likely it is the push buttons or the "brain" that they go into....had a 99 with push buttons and when it went it caused all kinds a stuff to go hay wire...

G'Day Matuva,

I just read your post. Read what I just posted, especially the notes at the bottom:

http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?t=18259

I ordered RockAuto & GM p/n 88962315 (encoder motor sensor assy) and p/n 15136039 (t-case pushbutton switch). I think the pushbutton switch works for 03-06 t-cases Code Np8 (ours is 2006 Avalanche with 5.3 litre, too).

Regards,
Franko
