Are we talking about the JEEP 4.0, or the Ford 4.0, both are promising motors...

The Ford...Jeep doesn't have a 4.0 (SOHC)...but yea the Jeep 4.0 is a strong motor also

I've got a Ford 4.0 in my '03 Ranger and I had one in my '95 Explorer. I put 180k on the Explorer and have 134k on my Ranger and have never had any issues with either at all. Neither leaks or burns any oil. I change the oil about every 3k miles and just use regular dino with no problems. I pull about an 1800# trailer with the Ranger and it did it fairly well, but now that I have the 2500HD, it's got the towing duties now.

I've never had leaks or burned oil either...no problems at all except for the timing chain recall
