Ash Tray Controller Mounting

Trick spot to put your controller if you don't use your ashtray.

The ashtray assembly pops out by simply reaching under the top edge
and pulling it out.

Drill a hole and elongate it approx as shown. The larger part allows
the TST harness connector to get through. The slot allows the wire to
move without binding when opening and closing the ashtray.

A little crude.. Drilled a hole then used wire cutters to cut the slot. I used a
disposable box cutter to trim off the sharp edges.

Put a strip of 3M double sided tape across the bottom.

Stick it in with the top right corner resting against the joggle in the ashtray.
This will keep it from leaning back when pushing the buttons.

Here's a view showing the wire exiting the rear.

That is where I had my TST controller mounted. It was a great place for it and it looked factory. Also if someone else drives the truck you can disconnect the controller, shut the ashtray and hide the controls. No chip.
