got a buddy with a 2007 F-250 with a 6.0 and an auto that he wants to do stuff to on a budget.

Exhaust:
he wants it loud, with a side effect of better fuel economy and more power.

Engine and Tranny:
Cheap mods that are easy to do/install, and make it more reliable.

Any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

Exhaust: 5" Turbo-Back Catless Straight Pipe. Then do a nice Full Intake, not just an Air Box or an Elbow. Whatever Tuner he goes with if he gets one, I'd say SCT.

Don't know if they make something Simple for the Ford Tranny like a TransGo JR, but look on their Website and see.

If he's gonna put a programmer on the ecm, tell him to be kinda gentle with it. Those 6.0s are fragile. Couple of guys at work put hypertechs on theirs and like them. They have had some pretty serious warrantee work done though before that so maybe their bugs got worked out first.

try alligator perfomance...an all brand site...they are a vendor here have him mention DTR sent him...

Tell him nothing is cheap when modifying these things, he'll have to get over that first. If he's looking for cheap performance, well he's probably going to find the equivalent of those antenna boosting stickers you put behind your battery on your cell phone.
