What is this thing in the distributor hole? Does it matter what position it is in?
I need to transfer from one block to another.

Can I transfer the injector pump from one block to another with the lines still attached to it? It appears that it wouldn't be too hard, but it can't hurt to ask.

Its called an ESS (engine speed sensor). Does not matter what position its in just point it so the plug is easy to get to.

94-up has the oil pump drive only. Mechanical ip 6.5 engines had the oil pump drive/ESS combo. Some of the 6.2's had oil pump drive/vac pump/ESS.

These little devices can be of use as a tach drive I am told ?????
Never done it but it seems reasonable.

If the 4L80 tranny is in use the sensor is a must.

If you dont need the sensor, its still a good oil pump drive. :D

The thing that I pulled out of the 6.2 appears to be for a tachometer. It has a threaded top on it where it looks like you would thread on a cable.
