194 bulb twist lock socket Problems

Hi all, I’m up grading my gauge cluster lite to leds. Apparently GM used two types of twistlok sockets in there gauge clusters On there 1995 silverados. All the one I can find won’t work because the electrical contacts are 90 deg. to the locking tabs on the socket mine are about 30 deg. see pic,s won’t make contact. Also the bulb can’t be replaced you have to replace the bulb and socket together. Can’t find just the sockets I need Help!!!

Hope those are dimmable LEDs, otherwise you will have only two brightnesses as you turn the dimmer. Full on until the voltage drops below the LEDs emittance voltage, then Off.

I registered an account just now because I NEEDED to reply to this 5-year-old post that I found during a Google search. About a year ago, I ordered a generic LED kit with 161 LEDs in various colors and T10 twist sockets to "spice up" my girlfriend's 1995 Camaro dash lights as a surprise gift. After 357 hours spent getting in there without breaking any of the brittle plastic clips, I found that the stock sockets were about 30 degrees off from the new ones. Many thanks to Goose57 for confirming I wasn't as crazy as everyone thought.

I made the new sockets work, but I had to install them in a barely locked state. This is after I attempted to modify the new sockets, remove the bulbs from the old sockets to see if I could put the LEDs in them, modify the circuit board to lock the new ones in, etc. Hours upon hours of trying to make these T10 sockets work while being harassed by my girlfriend because the 3-hour "surprise" upgrade turned into 2 days... all wasted because now the T10s have been slowly disconnecting themselves due to normal road vibrations. My super awesome surprise gift has become an annoying reminder that I suck at giving gifts that bring joy... only pain and suffering. LOL

Lo and behold, DieselCash knew the exact socket ID this whole time!!! I could've used this info a year ago and here it is, in a forum thread that's 5 YEARS old! WHY DID NOBODY HAVE THIS NOTED IN THEIR PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS WHEN I SEARCHED FOR 1995 CAMARO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LED CONVERSION?!?!
