A friend of mine has a 2007 F350 6.0 with 100,000kms on it max.

just changed that aftercooler boot (top one at the turbo) on my truck and when I took it off the tube was coated with engine oil inside. Not sure if the turbo is leaking or if it is from a previous problem and they didn't clean it? I never leave it idling, other than a couple minutes before shutdown after a long pull. Can't be the EGR cooler problem the 6.0L is known for because the coolant and engine oil are clean, the levels never go up or down and there is no smoke out the exhaust. It still pulls very good and has about 24 psi of boost. I did wonder why I got the smell of burning oil every once in a while after I shut it off after a long drive. I made an appointment with the dealer next Friday, so we'll see what they say. No big deal, it still is under warranty.

I stopped by at a friend today,he has a 03 ford 6 ltr he had some trouble with it,he said there was fuel dripping from the tail pipe and it sounded like it wasn't running on all eight.
Started pulling glow plugs to do a compression test.
the # 1 was the first plug to come out,the tip was burned and wet with oil.
I stuck a thin antenna rod in the plug bore and it slid in all the way till the bottom of the oil pan.

Not good me thinks :nonod:
only 140 km on it,out of warranty

6.0's are notorious for this. Every one i have had apart has oil residue on the tubes from the crankcase breather. If the owner doesn't keep the air filter changed often enough and it is dirty it will pull more oil in through the intake and put more oil inside the tubes.
