looking at picking the truck up and was curious what all the issues were with this era truck. duramax/allison setup 4x4 fully loaded interior with 173k miles. runs/drives great, 3 issues that it has none of which i think would be much $$$ at all to fix.
1. electric mirrors dont move, doesnt have the big tow mirrors just the stock ones but they dont budge when you move the switch around.
2. fuel guage always reads empty.
3. slow cranking speed when you try to start it, dealer replaced 1 battery other tested good, figure that new batteries will fix this issue.
thats all the issues with it besides the inside of the bed being fairly beaten up but its a pickup what to expect there. drove great with a smooth ride, 4x4 works along with everything else and didnt notice any odd engine noises. i'm used to older diesels (6.5L) but didnt feel anything out of the ordinary. whats the lifespan of injectors on these? warranty still in effect and if not how much do injectors cost to replace yourself/special tools needed? anything else in particular to be wary of? truck will be making a 1200 mile trip this weekend with the bed loaded but nothing else.
