Actually they are still two separate companies and both still in business. You do get a little more bang for your buck with the Maxbrake. It costs a little less and does a little more than the Brakesmart. However both are excellent products.

I find that giving the O-Ring a couple of good stretches before lubing and installing helps it stay in place. I also use the Parker O-Lube. The O-Ring groove design can definitely use some improvement but with practice it's not that big of a deal.
