Broken wires after fan belt broke...now no start...with pictures.

The truck rattled quickly when I started it up, maybe half a second, right after I put in the new sensor. I will do the relearn just to be on the safe side. Thank you for your reply!!

Broken wires after fan belt broke...now no start...with pictures.

Thanks guys! I found the problem....def broken crank shaft position sensor. The wires tore right out of the sensor, however, all the oil and dirt covered the sensor up and I never noticed it.. Changed it and the truck runs fine. What is a TDCO relearn?? Does the truck do it automatically or...

Broken wires after fan belt broke...now no start...with pictures.

Hi everyone, on Friday my alternator seized up, which in turn broke the fan belt. Changed the alternator and the belt and right as I was putting the belt on I noticed broken wires. Tried starting truck anyways and no start. The truck was not overheated at all, since the truck shut down right as...

6.5 daily driver started making some noise

Had same problem. Next to concrete jersey barriers I could hear what sounded like a baseball card as well, turned out to be a bad vacuum pump.

    A D Diesel (Associated Diesel)

Ehhhhh I've dealt with Associated Diesel. There right in Dorchester. Not a huge fan. They sold me a D-Tech PMD that had runaway problems out of the box, brought it right back and told me I must have dropped it or shorted it out. Obviously not the case. I'm not sold on them at all. Try...

    Turbo sounds different

Why was the truck popping thru the intake? My truck started popping thru the intake last year, turned out to be a collapsed lifter. The air being pushed out of the intake ended up also blowing the oil out of the turbo and into the intake, and trashed the turbo.

97 k2500- Engine idles/runs rough, blue smoke, oil soaked intake

Sounds like the same problem I had. Oil soaked turbo and intake. A lifter collapsed on the exhaust side and pushed oil out the turbo. The seals were probably weak in mine since they had 200k on them as well. My motor was well maintainted so I pulled both heads and changed both sets of...

    Replacing 1994 K2500 Hub/Wheel Bearing Assembly

Same here with the bolts rounding...Not fun. I ended up pulling the spindle off to replace the hubs on both sides. Not fun when that happens.

6.5 No start, Chevy Dealer and Stanadyne Dealer Cant Figure It Out

I agree on the air in the fuel lines, even a pinhole in these trucks fuel system will cause it to run awful or not even at all.

6.5 No start, Chevy Dealer and Stanadyne Dealer Cant Figure It Out

While I understand why he posted this question, why didn't the stanadyne dealer get it to run?

    TCC Lock-up

Funny you say something about motor mounts. The passenger side is junk, the motors moving around in reverse. Thats the plan for this weekend is to change it out...but I'm wondering if its easier with the downpipe out of the way.

    Resurecting New Engine

I did front brakes last year on my truck. Might be a wise choice to do front brakes at the same time as the wheel bearings, as the wheel bearings need to come off to do the front brakes and vice versa. The wheel bearing job sucks if the head of the 4 bolts that are on the spindle are at all...

6.5 No start, Chevy Dealer and Stanadyne Dealer Cant Figure It Out

I know this might be a shot in the dark...but could you possibly have a clogged sock in your fuel tank??? Mine ran like a bucket of crap with one plugged sock (1 ton truck, 2 tanks). I put a new sock on and good to go. Look at that first before throwing money away and/or look for rusty fuel...

    TCC Lock-up

Handcannon...I am interested in this swap as well, since the twin to my truck DEFINITLEY does not have a lockup...that truck runs around 2800-3000 RPM around 65 mph. I got a chance to take a ride in that thing today as well. That comes up with some soleniod code.

    TCC Lock-up

Alright guys, had a chance to snag a scanner from a mechanic friend of mine...(hard to get as he's real busy, but got a chance to use it on his lunch)..The TCC is locking up 100%. The RPM's climb with the speed, but I'm just wondering if its the gearing in this truck as it did come with the...

    TCC Lock-up

Dennis...the truck is completely stock. Also, at 60, when you "goose" the throttle, the RPM's do climb with the speed.

    TCC Lock-up

The truck is about 9,000 lbs empty on the scales. So possibly I'm not feeling it lock up and everythings ok. Hopefully thats the case. The trannys never been rebuilt in this truck but I'm not sure about fluid changes. I may dump the fluid this weekend regardless....it needs to be done. I'll...

    TCC Lock-up

Warm idle is around 500 RPM's or so. The pulley is the correct pulley. I thought the alternator was changed, but come to find out its the original alternator. I'm located in Chelmsford Massachusetts. Anyone around me who wants to help? I'm obviously willing to travel...

    TCC Lock-up

I'm not sure on what scan tool the shop was using. I know he has a Snap On, but I'm really not sure if it is the newer Modis, or the older MT2500. Really not sure on that one. Could the temp sensor be bad and reading on the gauge. I recently replaced the temperature sensor on the side of the...

    TCC Lock-up

Update....I drove the truck...no lock up in 3rd, nothing in 4th as well. There are no codes at all. I'm really stumped at what to look at. The truck is warming up fine and shifts like theres nothing wrong at all. No shudders or anything. I don't know where to start looking. It's hard...
