I had my starter do that a few years ago. Replaced starter and it did the same thing!? It ended up being my ignition switch. Not sure how common my issue was but its more ammo for you to diagnose.. lol
Well I think I blew a headgasket. Had to top off the coolant tank the other day but didnt think much of it. Start it this morning and heard gurgling coming from the fan area, never heard that before. Pop the hood and check the coolant and its bubbling squeeze the top rad hose and its hard...
fianlly was able to get a E5 female torx order and NAPA didnt lose it the second time. Got the new switch and key cylinder in and voila! shes back to normal. Laptop communicates with truck again, Batteries arent slowly discharging over night! yeehaw!
It was relativley easy to replace, actually.
well guys, it was the ignition switch. Seen a post about one and the guy ended up banging around the column and it fired up. So i tried that with mine and low and behold two bangs later the dash lights up and fires up! turn it off to restart and dead again. Pretty confident its the switch. What...
I didnt know there was a link in the wires to the starter, thanks wiggle. I did replace the starter about a month ago now with no issues between then and now. Ill and make sure they are still tight.
EDIT* If the motor will still turn over while all this is happening would that not mean the...
I was really hoping that no one would suspect the ign switch! haha thall be a pain in the ass. Theres a fuesable link in the power supply to the fuse block is there not? Ill see what links I can find and go from there. Thanks you guys, its been a head scratcher so far.
Morning all,
Three days ago my truck threw a code and shutoff while driving randomly, wouldnt start back up for 20 min or so then sudddenly comes back to life. Ok, so my first thought was thats the PMD doing that. So I get it home and going to swap PMDs. Go to try and start the truck again...
I went from a GM8 to the HX40II and its night and day difference. Cruising EGT is 500 now compared to 600. It also takes much much longer to cross over 1000* now, where as with the GM8 I could hit 1000* just by acclerating to hwy speed. It spools a little later than the GM but not really an...
Same Jorge, Ive had mine installed for almost 15k km and no leaks. But I also took it to an exhaust shop to get a custom down pipe made straight from the turbo. No leaks, no weird vibration or niose. Havent blown a boot off yet either at 30psi (30 was only a few times, average max is 20-25 psi)...
I was told from the mechanic I started my apprenticeship with, that one shouldnt mix different types of coolant as the different compounds in them may/could react with one another?
Seems to me that the general rule of thumb with this motor is if you have a stock motor and turbo, keep the boost under 15psi. If running headstuds and a bigger turbo/more effiecient setup/less backpressure (and a tune to supply the fuel lol) to keep sustained boosting under 25psi. That is just...
