From a web search it appears Terry is no longer with us. I was able to find his Dad's obituary from 2/22/13 and then another link for what appears to be Terry's. I never saw it in the local paper and can't find a detailed obit to confirm but it doesn't look good...
I'm game too. On vacation from 7/20 till 7/30 so as long as it's not then. Good brewpub maybe? Or if someone has the land to just do a cookout kinda thing on?
I fell 100% better, I had one disc severely blown out. I was just about begging for the surgery. Just a little sore now and I have to be careful twisting, bending, and lifting for a few weekd.
I thnk I'll be able to make it this year. Since I had back surgery on Tuesday I can't go snowmobiling or do hardly anything for that matter. Thankfully drinking is definitely allowed!
Something has to be up with Terry or his relatives otherwise he'd be on here every day or so posting about the GTG. I'd be very surprised if he is having it this weekend at this point.
I did see him about 1-2 weeks ago as he was heading into Staples. I was grabbing Chinese and didn't flag him down. I figured he was having copies made for the GTG. I didn't realize it was scheduled for so soon.
They are actually a pretty quick little car. GM upgrade puts them at about 290HP and they run 13s passes. Stock they run 14.8 officially IIRC and some guys on the HHR forum has gotten in the 12s. I was looking at buying one but I just didn't fit in it.
Even though I can't make the run I'll suggest a route.
Meet in Danbury at Fast Eddies Gas Station (rt84 exit8) head down 84W to 87N to New Paltz and end at the Guilded Otter. Meet at 10:30am end at the brewery for lunch right around 12. Someone who lives in the NW corner of CT or near...
1)Taconic parkway, 87N to NYS, end in Lake George area? Sat into Sun?
2)84 to Sturbridge end at Hyland Brew Pub?
3)8N, 90, 22 end at Lebonon Valley Dragway
4)91, 95 to Mystic Aquarium
5)87 towards New Paltz end at the Guilder Otter Brew Pub
Once something is figured out I'll try and make. Tent camping is out for us since my wife will be at least 6 months pregnant by the time we do anything. I like Hyland Orchard idea or something similar.
I'm interested. Be cool if we could involve the wife and kids. At least to the point of bringing them with us and letting all complain together about the time and money we spend on our trucks):h
