Did you use a delco thermostat or after market? The after market run hotter.

I used an acdelco 15-4674 fan clutch from amazon. I paid a little over 70 bucks for it. Then I got a Duramax fan and mounted it up. Put in the correct delco thermostat and it's been perfect ever since. Works good in Mississippi.

Is the Hayden 2839 clutch the correct one? My truck has the stock six bolt on it. I have a 94 4 bolt clutch, so I ordered the fan blade to see if it would work.

I got the 1580690 fan that rockauto has listed for the 02 Duramax. The fan is a four bolt with 3.75 center to center. The clutch I have is for a 1994 with a 3.25 center to center. I even looked up a clutch for a 1997 model and 1998 model and both list a 3.25 fan mount.
