AC Delete Pulley Issue - IT BROKE!

My wife took my Suburban to work this morning and while she was heading down the drive, there was a loud noise and she lost power steering and brakes. Upon inspection, the AC delete pulley came apart. A little background on my setup for those who don't remember me, it has been a while. The sub...

BUILD Thread '89 Suburban w/ built 6.2L TD - Big Burb -aka The Beast

This is what she looked like when I got her. She was a stock 6.2L 3/4 ton suburban with a 4" lift. The IP was fresh plus a 10" stack of part reciepts from the dealer and she ran good. The highway was painful with a th400, 4.10 gears and stock tires. She was made for 55 mph, not 70. I...

She is running pretty good now.

My main scary noise ended up being a bad injector. Some crappy video of a couple of unloaded runs on mostly flat ground (it is hard to video while driving). I "roll coal" pretty good until the turbo spools. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BJe477a6wc

It started! With issues and video

Good news is my built 6.2L started. Bad news is it seems to run really rough and will die after giving it throttle. Here is one video of it starting (warm) and dying after a little throttle. Is this a timing issue? I have another video that is uploading...

Help me wire cs alternator - 89 6.2L suburban

I am looking to finish this up. I need some confirmation on my wiring. I went with a cs style alternator. It has a pigtail with a red wire (to battery) and a white wire (to ignition source). It also has a small (3/8") post. Here is a pic: I believe that I should run a decent sized wire (8...

    Wiring

I need to wire up my alternator. I swapped to a '94 serp setup and a CS alternator. I basically have no clue what I am doing. While I have done a little wiring, you can consider me a wiring newb for all purposes. This is what is left of the old: it goes from the GP controller to a...

So trying to figure out what lines go where on the power steering pump. I have the high pressure line hooked up, it is the other two lines that I am unsure of. Here is the pump with the two lines (red caps); I have one hose coming of the steering box and one hose coming off the...

    '94 serpentine belt/accessories question

I have a question about my accessory set-up and the belt needed. I asked in my build thread but I am not getting enough hits, so I am asking here. This is a '94 serp setup on my '89 6.2L burb. I am using the cam driven vac pump. Here is my set-up; Does this look correct? What...

    Buying a Suburban - 6.5l vs Vortec

OK, getting ready to pull the trigger and I keep going back and forth between a 6.5l vs the vortec. This will be the kid hauler and with our 3rd boy coming in May, it is quite necessary. Reliability and hwy mpg are important as this will be our main vehicle. I only have around $4500 in cash. I...

looking at a '95 suburban with questions

Here is this burb I am looking at. Does this sound like a PMD issue or an IP issue? Here is the CL ad; "1995 Chevy/GMC Suburban 4x4 Diesel Super Nice Condition! Has a Turbo Diesel that does run and drive but needs a new Injector Pump? I am not sure why it is running rough. But it will...

Good and bad years for 6.5's

We will soon be adding another diesel suburban to our stable. We are expecting our third child in late May :D:thumbsup:and my wife's Camry will no longer meet our needs. pics of banks crossover on soild axle truck/sub/blazer

I have a banks crossover and it seems to not fit too well. The problem area I am running into is the bellhousing brace bracket (goes behind the motor mount and connects a brace to the bellhousing) on the drivers side. I will get some pics of this hopefully tonight. My crossover is used and...
