I was driving around 35 and it felt like my transmission slipped my first thought was NOOOOO !@!@$%#$@% then I noticed no tach and no speedometer. the truck runs normal but starts rough after warm up was the only hitch this 7.4 vortec really had. new fuel pump, cleaned the tank while I had it...
Thanks I appreciate the effort. I’m not sure the company I went through even grounded this actuator where any manual would have listed it anyway. Maybe, maybe not I traced the ground wire up above the transmission somewhere. But I should have had some kind of function in the actuator with the...
im new to doing electrical work on my vehicles but I think I get by on the basics. that being said Im kinda at a loss on this project and looking into the Posi-lok idea perhaps in the future. so I found that I had no ground continuity in the plug. I tried using a jumper to see if I could get...
yup got no continuity to the ground wire (solid black wire) on the actuator after lunch im going to make a jumper and see if this actuator still works. I still can't find the right schematic for my truck lol I never thought that would be a problem.
ok cool, lol im still trying to find out where they grounded this. perhaps its still good? the fuse is still new and it test ok 12 plus at the fuse 12 plus at the plug. ill try and find the ground. so far the manual I have says little about ground locations but I didn't have much time to look at...
not sure why this style actuator keeps failing? when I asked the shop what happened to the first updated actuator they sold me for $500 installed, the tech told me he really didn't know why it failed? so since I brought it back to them in less than a year it was still under warranty so they...
yes the front Dif actuator is the five pin style plastic actuator. it was installed early spring. im getting power to the plug about 12.88 volts but the actuator does nothing?
yup I misdiagnosed the problem earlier. it was the front actuator. im getting 12.88 volts at that plug. actuator doesn't do anything. not sure why the keep failing this is the second brand new front actuator in less than a year.
update I misdiagnosed the problem. its the front actuator you guys!!!! im so sorry I missed it. im ordering a Posi-lok actuator replacement kit. no more electric actuators. this the second brand new actuator and this last one was under warranty. I called the shop that sold me the actuator and...
I’ll update what I get done later. Hopefully I’ll figure out what’s wrong today. I’m out and about right now but my ring app just caught the mailman dropping off my manual so I should be able to get to the bottom of this soon.
well I've been looking, haven't been able to find a kit for eliminating the electric transfer case motor most guys have fabricated something out of random parts. this I can do but not right now. so im going back to testing plugs and switches to find out where im losing power and get this thing...
from what your saying sounds like I have the np 243. I was just looking at a posi-lok shift kit. looks pretty easy with minimal fabrication. im thinking about going this route. researching it now.
