88-94 Dash Restoration the Poor man's way!

Careful how you store the main plastic dash piece, the defrost vent area is super fragile.

    Glow plug wires under turbo

The housings for the female spades that attach to the GPs are a ceramic type material, once agan, to survive the heat.

    LED shop lights

I surmise that 'brightness' is a relative term maybe lumens v. kelvins? Oh man I don't really know and cannot jump off into the weeds on this topic as I'm not some scientist, but I do know when you're blinded by science it doesn't really mean you're Thomas Dolby ('80's song), you're quite...

    LED shop lights

Videos under some lighting does indeed suck, dark lines travelling up and down the finished product. Refresh rate with lighting/displays can drive one insane along with blue light. That's what I blame it on, yeah. LED lighting operates as an electrical arc. Noisy light. Some can drown out radio...

    Interstate battery crapped out

Batteries that sit and sit tend to go rotten on the bottom. Scale and oxides and whatnot. The natural agitation (normal drive cycles) is a good thing. 7 years for all that sitting ain't bad.

6.7 HO Powerstroke w/ 500 hp and 1200 lbs torque

Guy I know just bought one in a one ton RCLB config. I would hope the thing would be a rocketship. And traction control a life saver. Have not come into contact with this thing yet.

Darkman5001 welcome to TTS, and may I extend gratitude to your U.S. military service. Thank you.

K2500 Bake Shoes: Thicker Shoe Goes Where?

^^This does make sense, as mentioned above the longer, and now sometimes THICKER shoe is mounted to the rear both left and right sides. This is due to the self-energizing function of passenger car and light truck drum brakes.

    4L80 dust cover

I can look at my 93. Trans needs to come out anyway. Unless the number is on the outside I can shimmy under it and lay eyes on it... if there is a casting or part number.. That I do not know for certain.

    Code

Seems RA isn't so expedient in sharing codes like in the past. Budget constraints I guess... Last one I used was from a site called Retail Me Not.. Did a search for RA. Worked for my GM L5P coolant jug.

Welcome Natem3. LBZ is a great generation of the Dmax.

4L60E pan with drain plug between years.

The 4L60E shares the same pan bolt flange and number of bolts from the early 80's TH700R4 all the way up to the 4L75E. Obviously you'd need to match filters to the pan you choose (depth) as the filter doubles as the fluid pickup. Take heed to the filter seal as the OE is often a metal clad...

Wix xp still the go to filter

Misspoke there. Drop the first *5* so for instance a WIX 51515 is a longer oil filter for the Jeep 4.0. Then in the NAPA gold it's 1515.

New Lift, Still Biting, Splash of Air

Good deal and thanks for checking back on the 'fix'.

Wix xp still the go to filter

That's news to me.. Not defending NAPA, but what was the failure? WIX used to be all made in Gastonia, NC. What ever in the world happened?

    Tranny cooler location

^^I understand this. This confirms the radiators effectiveness at cooling an automatic transmission's spike in temps. Tradeoffs? Yes. Auxiliary cooling? Yes.

    506 BLOCK WORTH ANYTHING?

Yep Yep. In that crossover year the 599 block (one piece rear main seal) could have been bored for 6.2 or 6.5. Same stroke.

Wix xp still the go to filter

Wix FTW. For The Win. Fun fact, drop the first 9 off the wix part number and you get a NAPA gold filter number. WIX makes NAPA gold filters. 10-4?

    Are my headlights too bright

*High* beams has been a thing on the road. I drive commercially and the amount of light bars and non DOT approved conversion headlamps is on the rise out there on the highways and byways. The main offender is the LACK of consideration (dimming for oncoming traffic) and the LACK of properly...
