Your lucky, I just had my Ujoint let go yesterday only problem was I was doing 65mph down the highway when mine totally failed. I dont know if its the new Ujoints that are coming out or what because I just put these ones in a year ago and did the same type of pregreasing like you guys did...
ok just checked no fuel lines for the diesels only for the gas jobs but they also make the flex hoses for the brakes in SS and also the transmission cooler lines in SS.
Thanks Nobby, the pix say it all looks like factory parts just in SS. I think that they do make the SS fuel lines for our trucks but Ill have to double check.
you would probally have to do a single ECM because dual ECM's would go nuts trying to adjust the fuel rates and timing when the oppisite pump is trying to do the same throwing off the calculations. although in a pulling tracto/racer where a smooth idle isnt needed you could have the timing on...
I will say, my Sub came with a bunch of SSDiesel parts on it when I bought it (the PO lived 15min away from their shop) and it has the upgraded dmax fan/hd clutch and I cant get the truck to go over 180'F no mater how hard you push it or how hot it is. I checked the sender and changed the...
I "cleaned" mine when I first got the truck and it was stained brown and the mesh may be restricted but not noticably by the naked eye, now granted that was at 172,000miles and you have well over double that kind of miles so I cant say I am very supprised that you found that kind of buildup...
I have a stock xover and dp with a 3.5 from the dp back that dumps out under the bed infront of the rear axle, it sounds pretty good imho. One day I had finished up work and had a 4' long pice of 6" pipe laying round well I managed to get it under the truck and up onto the outlet of the exhaust...
while we are on the subject of Nozzles, would it be a possibility to have a billet set of nozzles machened and/or stockers either tempered or cryogenicly treated for extra strength? would that reduce wear on them over time? also how about the pintles with the same treatment? I havnt torn a...
LOL, somehow I dont think it would fly trying to explain that to a cop. But I am totally up to give it a try!
On the other hand add body armor and some oil/kerosene in the tank add a spark plug at the tip of the nozzle and call it a day....:D That might take care of the road rage problem, haha.
That is a pretty sweet setup, but I would cost a fortune (literally) to fill up the foam and dry chem tanks. I know foam is going for like $38 a gallon and that looks like a 300gal tank $11,400 in foam... This is a truck I think my customers would expect me to drive since fire protection is my...
Ok it may be a shot in the dark here but with all of the concerns with dissimilar materials, what about welding a block in there? I know that you can weld cast with the right stuff, I have it done for work more often than I like. That way it would all be the same matrial. I amagine it would be...
I just did this mod to my truck two days ago and from what I read it is doable on a 96 and older (yes I know the 96 is a OBDll, the reasearch I'v found says its ok on a 96).
Their is two ways to do it one is in the cab and the other is at the transmission depends on your preferance.
If your...
Ah I see, well I have a few monometers laying around at work maby I will set one up and get some readings from the fender (stock setup) and see how many inches +/- of water we really get in there. I have a day off today so I think I will try to test tonight.
hey jumping back to pressures, do any of you guys know what pressure you gain at 60mph? I know there is alot of volume going past the truck at 60mph due to the amount of frontal area of the truck but how much "pressure" would there really be? If know one knows I have a few diffrent size gauges...
Crankme, does all of the trucks have the barometric sensor? I have basically the same truck and didnt have that sensor that I know of. I did the same with ditching the vacuum pump and had no problems, I only have the one vacuum solinoid for the turbo.
yea Id go with the VHT 2000`F paint, I used it on the exhaust piping for a 350hp JohnDeere firepump and it has held up perfectly. I would definitally use it again.
GW great thread here! The EGT gauge you got, did it come with a thermocouple? You really cant beat the price even without the probe, but if it does come with it thats just like icing on the cake!
