The max you could ever make with everything available for a 6.5 in a street truck is 300HP (DS4). And it is the injection pump that is the limiting factor, nothing else. Marine motors make up to 400HP but that's with a much larger injection pump and the ocean or lake to cool it. From your sig...
01-05 all aluminum tanks
06-09 same as early version but plastic tank on passenger side.
Some say the all aluminum IC's crack under high boost. I'm sure it's true, as some guys really crank up boost with compounds. Cast tanks do flex but only to a certain degree then they fail. A set of...
To do it right the core support must be modified. The condenser stays where it is at. Search "Super "B" install" and you can see a different take on it.
Probably just air in the system. It won't hurt anything. But when your not expecting it, and your firing a new engine it's one less thing you need for the event. LoL
Paul it shouldn't matter, even with the back pressure on one manifold it still would back feed out the cross over inlet. Probably just didn't like the first initial fire. Even if it back fires ( unless it backfires like a 80mm cannon, that would be annoying ) you just need it to run long enough...
Thanks 3500GMC!
Today's update!
Everything in the engine bay is back together.
Drove it a little while ago, have the boost set to 18psi. I don't have the EGT hooked up as I am doing bodywork on it now. And on a side note the original ECU had the older Heath GL4 towing program. Sent it...
Thanks Paul,
Ya know..... When I decided to use the Wiggins connector, in the the back of my mine, the purple would more than likely hit a cord with you LoL!
That would be nice to do a square pipeline!
Tonights progress
Fabricated the turbo to IC tube.
Modified the Peninsula intake to install the MAP sensor and the Air temp sensor.
I should get the other charge tube fabricated tomorrow.
I tow a trailer for my business. I do custom interiors, kitchens, bathrooms, theaters, entertainment centers. We have been doing renovations since the economy has been in the sh@tter. Anyways..... I got tired of cranking the damn handle on the trailer jack. So I made a lever actuated...
Thanks, Not at all... In the engine bay, the batteries are closer to the hottest heat source, yet no issues there. The muffler has a heat shield which the muffler doesn't see half the temperature as under the hood. Most German cars have the batteries next to the fuel tank, Porsche like 1-2"...
My local hose and fitting hydraulic shop uses it to make any custom a/c manifolds or fittings. Kinda like silver solder for steel or brazing but lower temps. I do believe the radiator shops use the same rods to repair aluminum radiator cores. But if they work for your application then and a TIG...
Thanks guys!
Yes Pipeline, I do agree, I wish it was in the budget and time, I would have the tank bright clear anodized after buffing. Then...... I would have been happy!, but...... such is life;)
Jorge, I thought of leaving it raw or buffing it to a mirror. But then I thought of the up keep too. So I opted for the paint........ Not much to report today as I am waiting on parts. But here is a pic of the breather...
I may need to clock the turbo down to gain more room for the air...
Thanks AK.
Made the overflow tank today.
I have been venting the crankcase to atmosphere but not really the way I wanted. So while I was fabricating the oerflow I built a nice little breather tank that I will vent the oil fill tube and the other from the CDR.
I end up etching the two...
Thanks pipeline,
It was easier to add the aftermarket wheel tubs than to cut up and modify the original tubs. It just made it easy. I layed up some composite skirts that will be mounted to the inner most part of the new tubs to shield the engine bay from the wheels especially when it rains...
