No, it is not for vehicles with a fuel line mod. They would not sell it to you and would not honor the warranty
You can make something up on your own if you want I suppose.
Maybe Rockabillyrat can help?? See...
What I was saying a while back was the same. The 5/16 line is stock. You showed why GM did this which I knew. But my point was modding the line to 3/8 without a better lift pump would drop pressure though increase volume capability on the same pump. You said this exactly what GM did in...
Fuel Solenoid at the back is not the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid which stands up on the front. So... No
The DS4 Service Manual is hard for many people to understand.
The way to understand it is the Fuel Solenoid is the throttle. The rest if the IP is the carburetor. When there is insufficient fuel...
I used a Holly Blue knock-off once in testing. It worked but was noisy on the rail and maxed out at 14 psi, but without a regulator it surged to idle speed and the idle speed surged because of it
I am not going to go there. I have seen plenty of DS4 with burnt up fuel solenoids. What do you think happened when it starved trying to just keep an idle?? Have read your own motto in your profile that says "SlIgHtLy Stupid".??
I did not say "air" was entering - though it could be, and I also said the transfer pump was "slightly starved". Read the section on the Fuel Solenoid and if you cannot see how the energized cycle is lessened or increased by fuel demand as engine rpm I cannot help you read and understand...
FIVE years it ran without a problem. A spare is because you cannot walk into a parts store for replacement, and still I have not used the emergency spare.
I have pointed out real world truths. And when certain people told the world what COVID was going to do, they got this reaction too. It...
I think the best way for anyone to understand it the OEM solenoid pump specs which are now 10 to 14 psi for most all of the ep158, ep1000 for the 2000 and up vehicles that have same interchangeable IP and the previous years were in earlier years 7 to 9 psi cannot see there was a problem. The...
Does it move by hand when cold back and forth without the engine running by push and pulling at the actuator shaft?? It might be mechanically stuck closed which also allow an ovrrboost situation.
Depends where you live as to heat and moving or sta ding still a lot. My pmd is in cool airflow right at the front of the hood. But still standing still the pmd does not get HOT only warm. See my post at...
The last paragraph you wrote is 100 percent correct. Mounting an axternal cooler in a hot place does not help. A heavy foot driver does not help. Sometimes the pmd does not fail but the connectors loose temper and electrical contact. See my post at...
I did not say or imply the power transistors are glued down, I said use cpu heat sink transfer grease when replacing them. That is to assure the heat from them transfers to the pmd case and from there to whatever it is mounted on.
Remote mounting the power transistors is not likely to work...
I repaired pmds for a while. You need a dremel type tool to route out the epoxy potting material on stanadyne units. There is none - as in direct access - once you pop the cover under the Chinese / Dorman pmds to the solder connection on the pins and to get to the Phillips head side of the...
A quick tip. You might consider using Cooper or aluminum tubing and only rubber tubing to connect the lines at the device. It won't melt or get brittle like those gm small plastic tubing. You might need to hunt down the small copper tubing at a good hardware store
Wasre gate solenoids get...
Here is the Stanadyne DS4 test procedure and exploded diagrams with part numbers.
31488 is correct
This test is performed usually on a Hartridge or similar stand that has the Stanadyne module ecm add on
Note the housing pressure checks at specific rpm.
Note that the test occurs at the...
I stand behind my previous post - I would replace the valve with a proper DS4 return check valve. The actual Stanadyne part numbers for the DB2 versus the DS4 is different. These 6.5 engines most likely all have had the IP swapped or rebuilt at some point. It is very quick and easy to put a...
