You really are gonna destroy that truck.
TNT is for heavily modded trucks, not daily drivers with stock fuel systems.
Put it back on the Revo tune and don't set it higher than 70 HP if he still has a stock trans and torque converter / 90 hp if it's a manual.
Level 9 on the TNT program...
As long as he has a billet input, it'll be fine, as long as the truck is under 450 HP.
If it's over that, make sure it has AT LEAST a laminated flex plate, otherwise with that triple disk TC you'll risk ripping the center out.
After I get the wastegate tuned how I want it and do a few tweaks to the trans, I should be able to pull another 2/10th's out of it without water/meth or nitrous.
If it pulls 7.20's on motor, I'll be happy with it.
If I can get it to hit 7.00's with the nitrous, I'll really be happy...
It should still pull 2/10's more once I get the wastegate dialed in.
Between that and the green track, it definitely didn't produce the best ET's of the day.
60's were between 1.63 and 1.73.
17 lbs at launch was getting a little lower in the 60' times. As soon as I would bring it up...
Finally made some passes today. I ran the truck and Tom ran the Chevelle.
Haven't gotten it on the dyno to tune the motor yet, but it was AVERAGING 3/10th's faster than before.
Fastest run of the day was 7.41 at 94 MPH.
At 7280 lbs, that's a little over 900 HP at the crank.
Video is...
Yeah, the old setup was really at it's limit.
I ran those up to 70 - 72 psi and once I turned the Smarty up over level 5 (160 hp tune), it just couldn't clear the smoke anymore.
Between Levels 5 - 9 (160 - 230 hp), it only made 23 hp jump from 748 - 771 HP. The smoke just got blacker and...
Exactly!
This is what I've said from the get go.
READING the data has never been the problem. FLASHING has never been the problem.
Like I said, they're 7 years behind everyone on that front.
MANIPULATING it without screwing up 10 other things has always been the problem.
When they...
I know how the EFI Live software works and how the tables are, that's not the issue at all.
It's easy to do with the GM ECM's.....I've said that all along, that's never been in question.
The tables in the Cummins ECM aren't that simple. I can go in with current software and add 1* of...
The point is this.....
Is it just another "flash" device or is it going to be a true LIVE environment.
Will I be able to go, "At 0 - 5 psi, I want 22* degrees of timing....at 6-10 psi I want 20*.....etc."?
Or, will it be like every other "flash" based tuner on the market for the Cummins...
It was smoking when the power was turned all the way up.
Those turbos were, realistically, at their limit in the low 700's. That's about the last point they could effectively clean up the fuel.
I'm pushing enough fuel to support well into the 800's with enough air.
With the new...
Here, just for the sake of keeping this in perspective....
This thread STARTED on 10-28-2009.
How many times since then have we heard, "maybe next week.......maybe 2 weeks.....maybe 3 weeks......"
I'll believe it when I see it.
Again, trust me, I'd love to see it......but, I'm not...
Unfortunately, that's nothing that can't already be done.
Reading isn't the problem.....
Flashing isn't the problem....
Recovering from a failed load isn't the problem.....
These have been done for years by every other tuner on the market.
What they're talking about "beta testing"...
I'll get it back on the dyno in early January.
So far it's running like a raped ape.
I still havent "smashed" it from a stop. Most I've pushed through it has been 78 psi from a 4th gear roll.
The power is really smooth. No big spikes, turbos come on quick, MUCH less smoke output.
If you're going over that, I'd suggest staying with the mechanical fan.
Yeah, it eats up 25 - 30 HP if it's on at highway speeds, but......the alternative is overheating.
Now, I will say this.....the cooling system on these things is so overbuilt it's not even funny.
When I first put my...
