"5. My 10yr old daughter or 8yr old son will pick the winning member's name from a hat, depending upon their availability. Don't like it, don't enter." - Wrecker
I like it. Keeps it honest. :D
I'm in.
If you pull your valve covers and find a rocker button busted and a rocker off center holding a valve open, I have 16 new buttons left over from my 6.5. PM me as I don't get in the 6.5 section much if you need them. I was fixing to gather up old parts and put things on ebay this weekend. Many a...
Baldwin Filter #'s:
02 LB7
Oil: B1441
Air: PA4113 (I trimmed the sharp corners off)
Fuel: BF7827 (Looking inside it seemed identical to the AC I took off)
I went with the Allison spin on from the Alli dealer and 2 gals of transynd.
Don't forget to keep your magnet on the top of the filter!
Assembled in America from premium overseas parts so it can wear the "Made in USA" logo. You gotta love the gray area.
SO do you think this years Olympic medals were made in China?
I guess I don't understand how the brake controllers work. I thought there was something built into the factory brake system that worked with the under dash controller to activate the brakes and apply teh brakes proportional to the amount of brake applied to teh pedal. So I should be able to...
I'm not sure about the trailer wires. I'm going to look at the truck this evening. My 97 2500 6.5 truck had the controller installed along with stating tow package on the build sheet. It seemed the 97-2000 trucks had all the wiring in place and all that was needed was adding the controller under...
I know, wrong forum but this is where all the 6.5 guys hang.
I'm looking at buying a 95 GMC Burb with the 6.5 but it doesn't list the tow package in the build sheet.
Do you know what I need to look for to know if I can add a trailer brake controller? Is there a certain plug or adapter under the...
Useful and insightful info right? Glad I could help!:hurray:
TD, I promise to keep it full of surprises if you let me stay.:D
You fellas take care. I'm off to look for another truck, I think I may need a crew cab to hold my ladies.):h
And TD, you can edit that out if you feel it the...
My warpspeed x-over seemed a bit wide, maybe by a 1/4". I had to bolt in 1 side then start one bolt on the other side and pry it over a bit while I got the other 2 bolts in. Start spraying those bolts with penetrating oil. My bolts came out no problem, use a 6 point socket, 15mm I think.
There's a great right up on the web about changing these rear axles to disc breaks. The guy sells the adapter brackets that bolt on and I think everything else can be bought at the auto parts store or a salvage yard.
Pics pics pics of the carnage!:cornut:
I used VDO Vision series gauges, they offered a 0-15 boost gauge, they are back lit and resemble the stock gauges. Down side is there are no indicators to indicate a measurement is reaching an extreme level. I mounted them in the junk pocket in the dash under the ac controller. I like the stock...
All you guys here at DTR are the best. Thanks again for all the kind words. Indeed what matters most walked away. My boys (I helped raise my buddies kid, changed them diapers, that counts right) are walking and talking with the sun shining on them another day. In all my anger over what I don't...
Recovery is fine. I just want to make sure the boys don't have sore necks next week.
Yep a fresh buffing pad and some compound and she'll be as good as new. :)
An organ donor, that's a good one. I haven't seen another 6.5 in town. I'm sure they are around but I haven't spotted one.
No airbags in...
