ill check when I get back to the shop this afternoon. ive been hunting hard for the last couple months so im backed up on all my to do lists. should've done this way before now.
I have a 93 and they don't go out completely but when I first crank the truck, any lights that are on will all flicker for a little bit until it warms up. after its warm it doesn't do it.
ive bought 2 '05 ford dana 60s for $300 each. badass 35 spline stock axles and huge brakes. you can redrill the front hubs to 8 on 6.5 easily. I have one of these axles under my jeep now and I have another one to put under my dually soon.
that's me too. these shows are cool but the amount of money they spend is insane. I don't have sponsors giving me $700 a piece shocks and $4000 worth of tires to build a new rig a couple times a year.
yea that's ifs/irs with portals. ive never actually looked under a hummer. I think you get more overall clearance with a solid axle and portals like on the video.
isn't the Hummer ifs/irs with portal boxes on the ends? ive always thought of them as independent and a solid axle with portals is like axletech 4000s. I would loooooove a set of axletechs!!
as it turns out i guess the stud vibrated out instead of broke. I had a bolt that fit those threads so I threaded it in and put a nut on the back like yall said. it fired right up like normal. I chased the threads in the block and got a lot more thread engagement there too. maybe itll hold for a...
got the bolts for $6.55 each from the dealership. I asked about the bolt for the support bracket and the diagram they printed for me shows a stud on the starter. that sucks, I was hoping to not have to take the starter out all the way.
I get up early to take my son hunting sunday and starter sounds like bendix isn't kicking out. been driving and starting fine. 2 month old starter so shouldn't be that. look under there and one starter bolt is gone and the little bolt that holds the starter support bracket to the starter is...
awesome pics keep em coming! id love to take my jeep out there one day. the traction there has to be insane compared to the southeast. everything we have down here is covered in dirt, water or mud. man those hummers sure don't have much articulation. cool to see them out there.
