That's a good idea. Fabricating a barb or something to the base of the AC for a hose is something I can do, until I find the original unit. Interesting note on 427. Is this something I could ID through the VIN, or would I look for a number on the block?

MrMarty, it had no output. Bought a reman. Now between 15 and 16. Battery charged right up. Now I'm down to a seal in the steering pump and some breather lines on the valve covers.

Thanks Will L. 150k miles start, 200k stop. Bought it in 6/2012. Parked it in 2/2015. Some towing, rarely heavy. Was strong till the day of fate. Aeration possible. Filter and seal were new, but will check for tightness when pan drops.

That makes perfect sense. It's something I didn't consider. When I pull it apart, I'll make some notes of how firm the seals are, their condition and position. It wouldn't cure the problem, but it will let me know what it takes to solve it. It would at least be a step in the right direction...
