Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

geez time goes by fast!! it's been a whole 3 weeks since I have messed with the engine! I finally got out there today and finished up the heads. I had left them all apart on the bench and with the last couple of rain storms on top of the garage roof leaking, there was some surface rust on...

    Poor man's garage maintenance.

well I finally got around to getting one of the 10x20' car canopies warrantied out over the tarp getting destroyed in the rain storm we had a few weeks back. also replaced two of the chepo LED shop lights that had gotten wet with the garage roof leaking. now I can see and continue working on...

    1993 CTS switch

Yes sir, I saw your post and it reminded me LOL. I pulled it and tested with my ohm meter while holding it under the kitchen faucet. I could feel it click and my meter stopped beeping under hot water and it clicked back and began beeping under cold tap water. PM me your mailing address and...

    Electric Fan clutch

when I installed the GM electro clutch on my 95, I had to stop the engine and wrap something around the fan and start it holding the fan in place to break it loose. once I did that a couple times it began to lock and unlock like it should. once locked up they usually will take a good amount...

    95 1-ton, 92-93 4L80e harness issue

Yes 92 and 95 will be totally different on the internals. different internal harness, solenoids and iirc valve body as well. there are some things that can be done to make it work, but it's a lot of work.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Raising the suspension by 4" might require longer shocks. you want the travel length to sit about in the middle when the truck is on the ground so you don't bottom out up or down.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Well the transmission is fixed on the 93!! I took it out for a drive this morning and at first it was doing the same thing, get up to speed and the TCC locked in but wouldn't release. connected the display on the TCI controller to see what it was saying. sure enough it was keeping the TCC...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

This trans might have 10k - 15k miles on it now since it was rebuilt. the PO had it rebuilt back in 2018. I do have a temp gauge on it and have seen temps up in the yellow region of the gauge (don't remember the actual temp, but that might explain the dark color. there isn't a cooler on it...

I got my first truck back…

Question: when this no start condition started, could you physically hear the fuel pump running. and now as it is can you hear it and is the sound the same? I am wondering if 1. pump motor has a bad spot and finally got past that and starts to run. 2 possibly a clogged fuel filter that...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

I replaced both the 1-2 shift and the TCC solenoids. the ones in there were not delco units looking at them the markings were different. I also noticed that the 3-4 solenoid is kinda loose on it's bracket. I think I will most likely order that one and the sensor plate that lives under the...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

need to see if the tires are moving as soon as you slightly turn the steering wheel. best to stand out side and watch the front tire while you start moving the steering wheel if they start to move at the same time both directions then you should be good. if you can turn the steering wheel...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

before messing with my 93, I spent most of the day messing around with the Ole'Betsey the dodge ram. brought it in my work area and pulled off the throttle body. cleaned it up real good. then gave everything a good looksee. it needs quite a few parts. all of the hoses need replacing. the...

    1993 CTS switch

I actually found two of them.... I have an old 6.2 engine that's junk and a set of 6.2 heads that have bad valve seats that have one on them. if you need one, I can pull it out and test to make sure it works.
