I was always taught that the rule was .002 per cylinder, which would be a total max of .008, so I think yours will be O.K. Like you said, the studs should be able to pull that flat better than the TTY anyway.

It could also be a stuck blower door, or a dysfunctional door motor. You can try running the door motor off of a battery, if it works that would limit it to a wiring problem or the controller.

I would find a way to put the cover back on the box, it will really make a difference in your IATs. There is a thread floating around where a member did a test with the cover on and then with it off, made a real difference.

2 stacks isn't really for extra performance, most guys just do it for symmetry

Generally if you keep up the maintenance and treat it nice, it will stay running, there are some motors that tend to go early, but generally if it has already made it to 200K it will be fine.
