    vacuum pump

i've got california emissions on my truck, meaning vacuum pump. i heard you can just take them out and plug the line, meaning your EGR valve will stay closed then. but i'm not sure.

    vacuum pump

i need a new vacuum pump because apparently i can't just take it out and replace with a shorter belt. where's the best place (read as cheapest place) to get one?? i need one ASAP. whoever comes up with the best price, i will send a 6 pack of beer in the mail.

    Farming Thread:

i like your style. its a good thing we don't have very many of those here in ohio or i'd be out of business.

    Farming Thread:

we're the same way here in NW Ohio. bone dry. we haven't had any rain in since the 12 of july, and that was only 1/4 inch. we could use a good soaking, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. i guess that's why we all have crop insurance. PS. i sell crop insurance.

    Farmers, help me!

that's normal for those leaves at the bottom to look like that when it gets real hot. a good soaking like you did is probably the best way to water. proly every 2 days or so. your corn looks a little yellow, you might want to add a little nitrogen to it.

you have a big refrigerator? or a reefer trailer to stick that stuff in over night??

    Farmers, help me!

i wouldn't worry about the bottom leaves turning, as long as the ears and the rest of the plant are nice and green.

    Farmers, help me!

if the pot are touching each other, you shouldn't have any problem with pollination. that pollen can travel pretty good distance with the wind. once you notice the silks turning a dark brown that means that the corn is pollinated.

    Farming Thread:

no bale wagon. all by hand. our wheat did decent this year. we probably average 75 bushels/acre. there is loads of straw out there. i think i'm getting around 70 bales/acre too.

    Farming Thread:

baling straw..... i thought it was more fun before 3800 small squares. i've got about 1600 more to do this weekend. hopefully i can wrap it up over the weekend.

    Farming Thread:

i bet those 200 hp motors are cheap... we have 10 acres of wheat left that we will finish in the morning. i'm about 1/3 done with baling small squares... there's a lot more straw out there per acre than last year. i don't think i'm going to have room for it all.

    muffler or straight pipe?

i ditched the muffler on the stock exhaust within two days of having the truck. i didn't think it made any difference other than sound. i've never noticed any HP gains or mileage with an exhaust, but with every modification i've done, i think my right foot gets heavier for some reason...
