    Unknown noise problem..help please

Your sig says you have had the tranny worked on and you stated you have a lift. I would put it back in the air and check the torque convertor bolts and the bellhousing bolts. Sometimes they will loosen over time if not locktited. Loose bolts will cause vibration and odd noises.

    couple questions

At least if you get the 8.1 you will get the Allison tranny, the 8.1 should get better gas milage towing. I know a fella who towed with his fathers 2000 RCLB 454 and only got 6mpg pulling around 7k. If i remember correctly the fella above me here towed his Toyota to the same place, same miles...

In the winter months i change my fuel filter every 6-10k just to be safe. As far as gelling goes look in your area for a fuel station with a good reputation. In the winter months i only go to the local guy here in town, he cuts the fuel 50-50 with kerosene. My fuel milage isnt great but i have...

Proper ballast/post what you run and blade!

I am thinking of installing air bags when i get the 6' in bed sander installed. I am going to wait and see how bad the truck squats when it is loaded. I am buying the sander from a buddy and his F-350 squats quite a bit when it is loaded and he has helper springs. He figures it weighs about...

Using your truck or company truck??

Doesnt sound like they are organized very well. Definitly keep your blade, you can alway upgrade to a bigger spreader or an in bed sander. You might better start up your own route if your work schedule permits it. My next invetsment is a loader but that wont be until next summer/fall. I am...

Has anyone here actually had their fuel gel?

X2, i dont run any additives anymore and havent for almost 2 years now. I only get my fuel at the local station here in town. He sells gas, fuel and runs 4 home fuel delivery trucks. He marks right on the pump how much he is cuting with kero. He has been cutting 50-50% for the last month. All of...

    hello

Lets see some pics of that Boss hitch spreader. I am buying a 6' Salty Dogg stainless in bed sander from a friend for the D-max. He is ordering an 8'er and he is giving the new controls from it when it comes in, $2k for a 3yr old well taken care of sander with new controls is a good deal.

gm hd wheels on a trailer

No reason why you couldnt other than correct backspacing, too drastic of an offset may be too hard on the bearings.

WANTED: 66 Grand Prix RUST FREE

Thats a hard order to fill in these parts. I know a fella north of here who is a Pontiac freak and i am sure has one. I havent seen him in almost a year now, i will see if i can get a hold of him and ask him what he has. He brings cars in from around the country and stuffs them into storage. I...

I am running the Cooper Discovery M/S right now in 265 flavor, best damn snow tire i have ever ran. Used to have the Hankook Dynapro MT's, very good traction but didnt wear very well.

    Show me the $$$

Minimum here is $60 an hour depending on size of driveway, location "angles/steepness", how many obsticles that are in the way, room to push snow and the time they need to be out. If i have to be at two different locations at opposite ends of my plow route before anyone else then they pay extra...

    Show me the $$$

My minimum is $30 for any new customers and that again for sanding. I do have a few older customers who are $25. If i have anyone ask for a lower price or argue the price i just ask if they would shovel it for that money. If they say yes then it is theirs to do, i am not going to roll my truck...

What trans is in a Dodge 1500..

X2 if memory serves me. Same tranny as Dakota's and Jeep grand Cherokee's. If you are rebuilding it or replacing it you should flush out the cooler and replace the line/check valve. The check valve is most likely the reason why the tranny crapped out.

    SnowWay MEGA V

I cant remember what plow site it was, i am thinking Snowway or Western but one them showed a fella driving a V-plow into a 6" curb repeatedly to show the durability of the plow and frame work. This guy want puttering inot it either, more like 8-10mph straight on into the concrete  .

    Show me the $$$

I just got back in from plowing, i havent measured yet but it is at least 14" again today. They are still forecasting 2-4" for tonight. We have gotten at least 36" of snow this week. Who knows what we will get this coming week. I havent seen this much snow this early since i was a little kid.

Half ton Ford tow trucks are a bad idea

That truck would have been an year 1980, i had one yrs ago too. It had a 302 auto, most gutless thing i have ever owned but by far the best traction 2X4 i have ever seen. It had the huge like 3" diameter holes in the frame just past the cab, i beefed up the leaf springs and would haul 2-3 ton on...
