    Time for gaskets.

No news on my truck yet. My wife and i decided to get the other 06 D-Max as a back up vehicle. I brought it home last night and everything seems well with it. The headlight covers and bug sheild have to go. I am undecided on the side steps, this truck seems to sit taller than mine. I will have...

    Time for gaskets.

I offered them $19k and we settled on $19,900. I already have the ECSB and i have been wanting a regular cab, this is the only one around with a blade already mounted. The blade is tired and will need replacing down the road but for now it is a good back up.

    Time for gaskets.

The tech and i had talked about the possible damage from driving it with it leaking. I am sure the head got grooved from the leak and he stated that if it was that bad then he was going to push for both heads. We both agreed that the engine would be better off with 2 new heads than one new and...

    LBZ Extended warranty?

Well, my GMPP is now covering 2 new heads and gaskets, one tie rod with wheel alignment and a new steering box. What do you think that bill would add up to if it was out of pocket? My GMPP was around $3800, i suspect the parts alone cost more than that no less labor for this repair. Who knows...

    Time for gaskets.

The dealer contacted me today. They are replacing both heads, the steering box due to leak "which i didnt notice until i put it in the air which previous dealer never said a word", and the left inner tie rod with wheel alignment. It sure is good to have friends at the dealer, from here on i will...

    Time for gaskets.

As some may know i have had a problem with a coolant that the dealer claimed was a loose hose clamp :icon_bs:. Its been using coolant but not as much as before so maybe the clamp was part of the problem but 4 days ago i seemed to have an exhaust tick up front. With the plowing i do and getting...

    Unknown noise problem..help please

, glad you got it fixed. The description sounded familiar as i have had that happen in the past with gassers after replacing the engine or tranny.

    Blade or blower

I rented a Bobcat skid steer with a 6' snowblower the other day to cut back the snow banks and it worked great with the exception of heavy ice. No snowblower will cut or throw chucks of ice, that would be the equivelent to rocks IMO. You can probably cut out most of the drift under the eaves but...

(1/19/09) How much do you spend on average per month for fuel?

My fuel consumption varies by season and what i am doing. I put 4 tanks of fuel through it this week with all the plowing.

    Sander

I have been planning to get a Rhino-liner this year, i have been putting it off every year but this sander is a good reason to have it now. The sander is mounted to 4"X6" PT that extends to the front of the bed so it cant slide forward. There is also a mudflap bolted to the rear so salt doesnt...

    'Turning up' Fisher hydraulic pump

X2, a friend of mine has problems with his once in a while. The plow will work fine one minute and then all the sudden it will go very slow and have little power. He just hops out and does a little fine tuning and off he goes with the plow working fine again. A fisher dealer told him how to fix...

    Sander

I am not too worried about the salt right now, i decided to leave the bedliner in so the salt shouldnt bother it much. I think the gap between the bed and the cab is creating an illusion. The bed is offset to the right a little on the frame so that too may cause this illusion. I never bothered...

    LB7 Starts then quits

Mine does the same thing, the moron at the dealer didnt put the filter back on correctly so it is losing prime.

    Any one use this?

Man thats alot of salt, how much does this cost you a year in salt? You must be stock piling it too huh? For this year i am picking up my sand at the local municipality that mixes their own but give some to the public. The mixture is probably opposite of yours, 75% sand and 25% salt. This works...

2+ feet of snow claims another keyfob

Just for giggles go talk to your salesman at the dealer where you bought it. These guys collect extra fobs from other used cars and some fobs will work even if they are not for your vehicle or do not have the same options. I know this from working at a dealership and a friend of mine was a...

    allison linkage broken ??

It is cable through the sleeve but under the boot it is a steel shaft. The shaft remains straight under push/pull conditions where i cable will just flop around without a sleeve for support. It appears to me the steel shaft is bent and you should be able to straighten it.

meyers power angle and "lifted" trucks

You can try to go one or two links higher in the chain but this will depend on if the frame will allow more upward travel. This modification will not allow the plow to drop as far either in the float position. Have you tried to crank your T-bars a little to compensate suspension drop?
