    New Toy

Nice find. Swap out the AMC 20 rear for a Dana-44 and save yourself alot of headaches. That 304 is a tough engine. A buddy had one with a fiberglass tub and it would move!! He also had a 1986 CJ-7 with a built 360 and that thing would rip the tires right off it. It went very well in the woods too.

    Check Your TCM Mounting!

I saw this same thing posted somewhere some time ago. I dont know if it was here or the other site but i remember reading where someones TCM had fallen down on the belt. May be a problem with the fastener and how it was installed.

    Exhaust rot

Any of you fella's have any issues with Flowmaster Exhaust rotting out? The damn junk on mine broke right off at the muffler . Then trying to maul the tail pipe off the truck next to the road was a nightmare :mad5:. Luckily i had my enclosed trailer in tow and i ended up cutting it in half...

    Aftermath of an 11pm phonecall....

I remember getting those type of calls at night. Anywhere from 8pm to 4am i would get calls to pull someone. I see your smart enough to use shackles and straps. Keep an eye on your straps and clean them well. The mud will dry inside the strap and slowly cut the fibers and you will never see it...

    Any one use this?

How true. I have about 10 ton of sand stocked up so far. I am keeping it at a friends place this year and i can use his tractor too. I had no time or money to build the sand shed, going through a divorce really drains the wallet. While moving my crap from onehouse to another i found the sander...

    Guys, I need your advice

A build/swap that i have always liked and considered is a late 40's eraly 50's Chevy truck. Stuff a 350/th400 in it and down the road drop a 6.5 in the place of the 350. A D-Max engine would really be the way to go but the 6.5 would drop in with few mods.

Damn fine looking trout stream right there  . You were about an hours drive from where i am. 02ltduramax patrols up in Indian Lake, Blue MT Lake and Raquet Lake area, so if you are ever up that way he just may pull you over to look at your truck:D. He has been known to do such things.

    Engine smoked badly?

Last week when towing home my mini-ex from a job the truck started excessively smoking. I didnt notice it until i got on the hill coming to my home and had the truck at wide open throttle pulling the hill. I was towing around 11k and the hill is fairly steep. I just happened see something out of...

    Craig Johnston From New Zealand

Welcome to the site, that 3500 seems to be the better deal IMO. That Z-71 isnt really a work truck, you work it hard and you will be rebuilding the rear axle every other month. Those trucks are clean i must say, you wont find trucks around here that clean unless its been garage kept and never...

so as i was cleaning up the barn ...

Nice looking ole Mopar, be careful with the paint but i think it would be great if you could save it. Nothing better than an all original car IMO. However i dont beleive the blade goes with it though. From the looks of the hitch that car may have seen some days towing. Lets see a smart car do...

    Whoops!!!

Nice looking truck, these hobbies are expensive. He is lucky the Ford didnt roll him the truck over when he was yanking on it. You can see the right rear wheel coming off the ground. Several guys in our club have rolled over from the very same thing, we were pulling on one fella uphill but...

    home build equipment

I never have No. But i know of an older fella who years ago built a skidder out of an old military 6X6. It had a 300 six Ford engine with two 4spd trannies and some huge transfercase. He ran chains all the way around it for extra traction. He would use it to pull out the wood and then load the...

    Help with a Ford 361

My apologies for this wrong info. I wasnt sure being an industrial engine, i know the intakes were different and i suspected the cams were too. Ford ran alot of addballs back then like the 359, 389, and the 391. You can buy an electronic upgrade for the points dist through Jegs or Summit if it...

    rough running 454

Have you thought of putting a new carb on it? This might be the way to go and for $3bills it is certainly cheap enough, http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS/JEGS-4-bbl-Remanufactured-Quadrajet-Carbs/752437/10002/-1 .

    rough running 454

Nope, most engines dont. If the dist isnt the problem then stick with the fuel delivery issue. It may possibly be the lean backfire, it wont hurt that engine to rich it up some. 454's can handle alot of fuel so try changing your jets or go with a bigger carb, just watch you plugs to see how the...

    Frame Protection....

You can try to clean the rust but IMO it would be a losing battle. I have seen quite a few guys just spray over the rust with good results. But there is a paint out there that will stop the rust, i dont know the name of it right off so you will have to research it or just ask a body shop what it...
