Assuming that you used a strap around the tree, it looks like you handled this fine. It is a sinking feeling to get stuck out in the woods, but great when you can get it out without having to hire a wrecker. :)

That sounds like turbo bark. My truck does the same thing when I get into it hard and suddenly let off.

Nice kill, Wes. I have played with 'vettes a few times, and have learned that the wast majority of Corvette owners are really crummy drivers. They spend a lot of time spinning and smoking off the line. Don't play with them at highway speeds, though. Those things have very long legs.

It has an Allison 5-speed automatic transmission. Watch out for injectors on that LB7 engine, and be wary of issues resulting from the lift and the tuning.

I have no firsthand experience, but have heard that sometimes the CD player needs to be reset by disconnecting the battery cables for a few minutes. Its worth a try.

x2 on the PW. I have seen rock crawlers built from Jeeps as you describe, with a SBC, Chevy truck driveline and D60 axles.
