I know the fords you're talking about and I haven't heard anything whistle quite like them. An open intake and exhaust will obviously give you more of that whistle on the stock 6.5 turbo. An hx has a nice whistle to it once you remove the silencer ring. Here is a quick clip of what my old 6.5...
